The Role

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll lead major technical initiatives at Symphonee — from architecture to delivery — ensuring our platform remains scalable, reliable, and deeply integrated with AI capabilities. You'll guide engineering direction, mentor teammates, and partner closely with the Principal AI Engineer to shape how AI features are built and deployed.

This is a hands-on leadership role with significant autonomy across architecture, performance, and AI integration.

This role offers flexible working hours. To collaborate effectively with our global team, we ask for at least 4 hours of daily overlap with CET/CEST.

What You'll Do

• Architect scalable systems that integrate AI-driven services, RAG pipelines, and function calling workflows.
• Lead technical design for complex cross-functional features across TypeScript, .NET, and Python services.
• Collaborate with the Principal AI Engineer to define system boundaries between core app logic and AI pipelines.
• Drive best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and freshness, optimizing for both performance and cost.
• Review designs, mentor engineers, and raise technical quality across the team.
• Introduce new tools, frameworks, or techniques that improve developer velocity or AI integration.
• Ensure reliability, monitoring, and observability are built into every service from day one.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including ownership of system design and large-scale architecture.
• Deep experience with TypeScript and .NET, and working familiarity with Python for AI-related integrations.
• Strong understanding of LLM integration patterns, function calling, and data-driven AI pipelines.
• Experience optimizing systems for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Proven ability to mentor and elevate technical teams.
• Excellent communication and alignment skills with product and AI leadership.
